ICGC History – 26th February 1984, Accra, Ghana.
The International Central Gospel Church – ICGC – is an Evangelical, Charismatic Christian Church.
It was officially inaugurated as a church on the 26th of February 1984, in Accra, Ghana.
The first meeting was held in a small classroom with an initial membership of just about twenty people.
From February 1984 to April 1986, the membership grew to about one hundred and eighty (180) adults in regular attendance.
The early meetings of the church were held in several facilities which included classrooms, a private residence, a public hall, a science laboratory, a mechanical workshop and a cinema theatre. In May 1986, the church settled in a rented scout hall – the Baden Powell Memorial Hall – which became its home for the next ten years.
During this ten-year period, the membership rose to over 4,000.
This period also saw aggressive missionary church planting activities with local assemblies established in almost all the major towns and cities of Ghana.
Several other churches were also planted in cities in Europe and the United States.
ICGC GGT HISTORY.
The International Central Gospel Church (ICGC) Greater Grace Temple, Essex, was borne out of the impression and leading of the Holy Spirit to take the gospel of Jesus Christ to the County of Essex and extend the work of God and the mission of ICGC to raise leaders, shape vision and influence our society through Christ.
About 6 families (from the local covenant family) made up of 11 adults and 10 kids met at the residence of the current resident pastor on 25th January 2015 to engage in prayer and to share the burden to impact Essex for God.
The idea was to start with once a month service and officially take off in July 2015.
So on the 22nd of February, over 20 people who by now had heard the birth of a new fellowship met at the Orsett Village Hall for a powerful service. News started spreading of this new ICGC branch in Essex as local evangelism and soul winning activities were in full force.
People started going to the advertised meeting place every Sunday in anticipation of a service not realising we were meeting once a month. Realising the need to take advantage of the harvest God was giving us at an early stage.
Greater Grace Temple had its first official service on April 13th 2015 at the East Tilbury VillageHall, Essex.
This was the only available venue as no Hall will allow a church to meet there or was already occupied. With no access to public transportation and far in a deserted location, we took the risk to start meeting there unbeknown God was hiding the dream/seed at the back side like Moses and David were kept hidden and prepared for the appointed hour.
After 4 months at the East Tilbury Village Hall, God gave us a strategic meeting place in Rainham, Essex on the 13th of September, 2015 where he began to grow and increase His church.
Amazing testimonies of life transformations and personal miracles saw many people coming in. We soon outgrew the hall and God miraculously gave us access to the biggest Primary School in England, Gascoigne Primary, on the 16th of December, 2016 where we have been meeting to date.
Over the past 5 years, ICGC GGT has embarked on varied social responsibility activities supporting local health establishments and care homes; embarked on intensive outreach activities in the Essex area and also supported the educational institution we hold our meetings. We have also held dynamic meetings and seminars to enhance the spiritual, physical and socio- economic enhancements of its members.
ICGC GGT was official inaugurated during it first anniversary on 21st April 2016 by our Regional Overseer, Rev Edwin Donkor, supported by our District Supervising Minister, Rev Kofi Okyere and with Prophet Daniel Awusanya(Jouse of Revival, South Africa) as the Special Guest Minister.
God continues to use this ministry to bring salvation, direction, leadership and great impact over the land of Essex and United Kingdom and our social media presence has also helped to take the work of the kingdom across the nations of the world.
